High West Outfitters (“HWO”) was founded in 2010 by West Texas Native Jim Breck Bean. What had initially begun as a hobby very quickly turned into a dream! HWO started with a few family-owned ranches, saw expansion in 2012, received recognition buzz in 2013, and leaped into tremendous growth in 2014-2015. Jim Breck set his vision for HWO in full motion by 2014, carefully identifying and leasing the highest quality ranch and hunting land in the Trans Pecos Region of West Texas. Fueled by superior team members and extraordinary landowners, HWO has and continues to expand into a high-performing operation.

HWO prides itself in ethical and sustainable wildlife and ranch management. We work closely with landowners to develop conservation plans that build healthy and sustainable ecosystems, giving the species we have the privilege to oversee the best opportunity to thrive. HWO values the commitment and hard work of multiple conservation groups, and collaborates in myriad ways with organizations like the Texas Bighorn Society where Jim Breck sits on the board of directors, Texas Parks and Wildlife and Wild Sheep Foundation.

High West Outfitters provides a diverse species selection in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. Our primary species are the coveted Desert Bighorn Sheep, Mule Deer, Aoudad, Elk, Pronghorn, and various exotic species scattered throughout private lands in Texas. HWO, through our guides, steadfastly practices sustainable harvests by emphasizing maturity and minimum age requirements when harvesting game animals on our ranches.
